After setting the 1940's hair in our lesson, I felt confident in knowing what set I needed to do. I practiced at home using my kettle which I was a bit nervous about doing incase it didn't work. For this reason, I only did a few rows of brickwork at the back as a test to see if it worked and how long I needed to leave the steam on and how long I need to let it dry.
I didn't take any photographs of the hair when I took the rollers out but it wasn't as curly as I hoped. I don't think I soaked the hair enough with the steam which is what caused the curls to come out badly. When I do the real thing, I will make sure that the hair is damp all the way through to the roots so that I can be almost certain that the hair will come out curled. I now know how I will set my wig and I feel much more confident in terms of doing so. I just hope the steam sets the wig!
