1940's Contemporary Hair Charts

I have looked into a few fashion/catwalk looks involving victory rolls. I really like these and it has given me inspiration to create designs like them.

After researching a few contemporary victory roll styles I have drawn a few hair designs that could work towards my final design. These are just the basic designs that I have come up with. Some I really like and others I am not so sure on but with a bit more work and tweaking I feel that I could perhaps produce something good.

Design 1

Here I have created a side parting but with three victory rolls. I like this design however I feel the back is a bit boring and hasn't got a lot going on.

Design 2

After much thought, I decided to see if I could recreate the snood that I originally used. I drew up a design of using extensions and plaiting them to recreate the criss-cross pattern of the snood. This is my favourite design and it relates and reflects more in my designs and photographs that I have copied my original design but made it entirely out of hair. I also really like the front as it resembles the shape of two victory rolls but only has one.

Design 3

I like this design however, it reminds me more of a 60s beehive than 1940s victory rolls. The back is interesting and contemporary but I like the idea of recreating the snood out of hair.
