Historical Informal Assessment and Evaluation

Below is my favourite photograph of my assessment as I feel it not only captures the wig but the character as a whole. I wanted to portray a 1940's factory girl and I feel the outfit, prop and the way my model is positioned best represents this. The photograph below is one of my inspirations for my photo as it is exactly the message that I wanted to portray, how woman "can do it", the mens factory jobs whilst they were fighting in the war.

I am really pleased with how my historical wig turned out. The overall look is exactly how I imagined. To me, wig work is about creating a character as wigs are what can dramatically change the appearance of someone! I wanted to create a 1940's factory girl with a story behind her rather than just designing a wig and putting it on someone. I made sure I researched into the 1940s and what was going on at the time to affect the way people looked. The blue shirt resembles the baggy shirts they would have worn in the factories and the snood shows how they would have worn their hair to keep it out of the way when working.
